| Description: | Goal: To protect marine habitats, biodiversity, and special places along Oregon’s coast through establishment of a network of marine protected areas (MPAs) and marine reserves
Objectives:
• Influence and support the Ocean Policy Advisory Council’s (OPAC) efforts to establish a network of MPAs and Marine Reserves
• Work with Oregon’s State Parks to advocate establishment of marine parks as extensions of coastal state parks
• Support community-based processes related to the siting and designation of MPAs and reserves
• Provide scientific support through the collaborative development of a GIS product with Oregon Ocean partners
• Communicate and collaborate with non-traditional allies including fishermen, business owners, |
