| Description: | Asbury Park is currently is going through a major redevelopment that represents a unigue opportunity because it involved a promient natural resource- the beach-that represents more than an amenity; it is part of the lifeblood of the communinty. The Jersey Shore Chapter has already established a significant presence in the area, running environmental, recreational, and community-based programs that assist in guaranteeing that underserved populations benefit from the great natural and economic resources that are a part of Asbury Parks past, present and future. The Surfrider Foundation is exploring strategies for further balancing the benefits of revitalization to all stakeholders in the larger Asbury Park community. We continue to conduct outreach to a wide range of community groups and the general public. |
