| Description: | The West LA/Malibu Chapter is actively following the City of Malibu's plans to meet strict new standards (TMDLs) for urban runoff and bacteria in Malibu Creek and Surfrider Beach. As part of the City's Integrated Water Quality Management Plan, they have completed a dry-weather stormwater runoff treatment, and are in the process of stormwater retention wetlands in the Chili-Cook Off area... to be renamed as Legacy Park. LA Regional Water Quality Control Board is creating plans that would include a wastewater treatment facility to treat "high-risk" septics in the lower watershed, which is critical for this solution to solve all water quality issues in this area. |
