The Tres Palmas Marine Reserve, created in 2004, was established to protect some of Puerto Rico's rich marine biodiversity for future generations.
By keeping marine areas in a natural state, free from potentially damaging human activities, these environments will be protected for the future. Rinconeños will also benefit from the positive effects that this protection will have on recreation and tourism, community education and scientific research.
