INTERNATIONAL SURF DAY

THURSDAY, JUNE 21, 2007


June 21st is International Surfing Day, so grab your board, head down to the beach and go get wet! Afterward, join the Surfrider Foundation as we host over 50 beach cleanup events across the United States and Puerto Rico, as well as a dozen more events worldwide. This year promises to be the most exciting International Surfing Day yet, with a chance for everyone to get their name and picture in Surfing Magazine, as well as win a host of great prizes including Surftech surfboards! TO CELEBRATE THE JOY OF SURFING WHILE BRINGING AWARNESS TO THE STATE OF OUR OCEANS AND BEACHES . THIS YEAR SURFRIDER FOUNDATION BROWARD COUNTY CHAPTER WILL BE TEACHING OVER 150 KIDS (5 - 13 years old) TO SURF. 

NOTE: Ft. Lauderdale Beach North of Sunrise Blvd was selected as one of our sites to celebrate the victory of Surfrider Broward County and the decision of the City of Ft. Lauderdale to expand the Wave Powered Watercraft Ordinance on Ft. Lauderdale Beach.

On the Beach directly across from Birch State Park (1200 North AIA, Just North of Sunrise Blvd)

Surf lessons, Standup paddle Demo, Ocean Kayak Demo, Beach cleanup, Ocean and Water Awareness,  Giveaways, Prizes

10:15 AM - 11:00 AM Surf lessons 7 - 8 year olds

11:05 AM - 11:50 AM  Surf Lessons 12 - 13 year olds

11:15 AM - 12:00 Surf Lessons 12 - 13 year olds 

12:30 - 2:55 PM Hang Loose Surf School - Private Lessons - Sold Out 

1:00 - 3:00 PM - Beach Clean Up, Skim Boarding, Frisbee, Botchy Ball, Demo Kayaks, Free Surf Lessons by a Surfrider.
