The EPA Beach Grants, authorized by the BEACH Act of 2000, has received nearly $10 million in federal funding for over a decade now. This money helps coastal states pay for their beach water quality monitoring and public notification programs. The president's budget for FY2014, proposed to eliminate all funding for this critical public health program. Surfrider is looking to Congress to restore funding for the BEACH Act.
