Coastal Armoring in San Diego
Having just released its Policy Statement, the Beach Preservation Committee is working to educate our members and the general public on the Chapter’s stance regarding all forms of coastal armoring and “beach nourishment” projects. The Chapter is actively opposing one seawall in the City of Carlsbad and the process by which the permit was authorized. The Committee is active in the local San Diego Association of Governments’ environmental review process of a beach nourishment project for the county.
