Mar de Plata Landfill Stopped
Surfrider, along with neighborhood groups, stopped the city of Mar del Plata from putting a garbage dump, next to a pristine stream that discharges in the ocean 1.5 km away. Now the city is constructing an improved sanitation facility and a recycling plant as well. This fight began in October 2004.
