Rincon PR Plastic Bag Ban
Surfrider activists in Rincon, Puerto Rico have been working to educate the community for years about the dangers associated with plastic bags when littered but the issue has not improved. Now they are working with local government to draft and pass the first plastic checkout bag ordinance in Puerto Rico. In addition to seeking a source reduction of plastic bags, Surfrider activists have been sewing reusable bags out of donated fabric - helping to provide a solution to the problem!
