Restore Beach Act Funding FY2018

The EPA Beach Grants programs helps coastal states and territories pay for their beach monitoring and public notification programs.  These criticial public health programs provide beachgoers the information they need to know where it is safe to get into the water and identifies water pollution problems.  The President's Budget for FY2018 proposed to eliminate funding for this program, and Congress rejected this proposal by including level program funding in the final Omnibus spending deal for FY 2018.  This will provide another year of funding to assist coastal states in running their beach water quality monitoring and public notification programs.
