Stop Illegal Beach Obstructions

The aesthetics, safety, and public access to Walton County beaches is being damaged by dangerous and misleading, signs, ropes, chains and other obstructions. This campaign is working to implement a Walton County ordinance prohibiting all such beach obstructions.

This campaign was created in response to a proliferation of misleading signs, ropes, chains, and fences- designed to keep the public off Walton County's beaches. The Walton County Commission adopted an amended Leave No Trace ordinance that specifies that no fences, chains or signs may be used on the beach (with the exception of dune/sand fencing). On June 14, 2016 the Commission adopted the ordinance, which was effective immediately.
