Things That Go Boom!

25 Years of Surfrider, 25 Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Projects

Great job by all of the Newport Chapter of Surfrider Foundation and Barefoot Wine volunteers who turned out for this fantastic event. About 30 volunteers hit South Beach in Newport and 51st St. in Lincoln City on the morning of July 5th and picked up about 40 bags of used fireworks and litter left behind on the beaches from the Independence Day weekend. The cleanup was a booming success and reminder for everyone that the booming displays come with a responsibility.
...and then there was the afterparty

The cleanup was followed awesome karaoke party at Moby Dick's. Costumes graciously provided by Cristen Don and Josie Thompson for this rockstar afterparty. Big thanks to all the sponsors and Barefoot Wine for helping Newport keep thier beaches "Barefoot" friendly.
