International Surf Day - June 21 & 23!

Come out and celebrate International Surf Day with the Newport and Portland Chapters of Surfrider Foundation. Three Oregon events are lined up and sure to be a lot of fun and a great benefit for our oceans and surfing. The first event takes place on the actual "international surf day", June 21st. An evening beach cleanup and paddle out will occur at South Beach State Park from 6:00-9:00 on Thursday June 21, 2007. Also on Thursday, is the Todd Hannigan concert at the Aladdin Theater (see http://www.surfrider.org/portland/index.html for details). The blow-out event is on June 23rd at the Rogue Brewery in South Beach from 5:00-9:00: "Art of Surfing", featuring surf/skate photography and art from around Oregon, food, drinks, raffle and door prizes, all ages welcome: $3 admission. Proceeds from this benefit will be split between the Newport and Portland Chapter to fund water quality, beach preservation, beach access, and special places campaigns. Come on out to have fun and learn how Surfrider is working for you!
