A special big thanks to the Lincoln City Green Drinks for coming out last week and presenting to us on thier fabulous Beach Shark cleanup mobile! Pictured at right is the crew that drove down from Lincoln City to discuss thier growing effort with the cleanup mobile...Next up is the Rogue contest this weekend, where we'll hopefully team up to clean up after the Gathering! Rogue Gathering - Beach cleanup crew Sunday September 7th (ride in the beach shark!)

Water Quality Samplers - Once a month, Saturday mornings

Fall Beach Cleanup - September 20th - Ona Beach, Lost Creek, South Beach, Agate Beach, Nye Beach and Beverly Beach Captains needed.

The Newport Chapter will hold a regular chapter meeting this Thursday 08/21 at 7:30 at Beverly Beach State Park Meeting Hall. The chapter welcomes Lincoln City Green Drinks as guest speakers. There will be a few speakers about different facets of Green Drinks and the "Beach Shark", their biodiesel beach cleanup vehicle aimed at making Lincoln City beaches the cleanest in the world! Green Drinks (http://www.greendrinks.org/) is an international, inclusive, self organizing group that meets monthly to mingle and discuss environmentally related topics. Lincoln City Green Drinks began meeting April of 2006; members have decided to take action through the Beach Shark Clean-Up effort. All ages, families welcome. Please bring a plate or beverage to share for the open potluck!
