Surfrider Foundation 2000 Club

nice waveLetter from the Chair of the Surfrider Foundation Orange County 2000 Club:

September 2004

After three years of chairing the Surfrider Foundation's Orange County 2000 Club, Harold Hofer has decided to devote his time to his responsibilities as a member of Surfrider Foundation's Board of Directors. He will remain a 2000 Club member and will continue to provide valuable assistance in the ideas and planning stages of future events. I have agreed to take the reins and Chair the 2000 Club and I am eager to build upon the foundation that Harold has laid.

I have been a Surfrider Foundation member for many years and a 2000 Club member since 2002. I believe the Club is a wonderful way to get involved with Surfrider at the most intimate level while enjoying some very high quality, informative and fun events. It is my goal to increase our membership -- and hopefully double it! -- and I fully anticipate that we will continue to have three or four gatherings per year that will maintain the fun and informal atmosphere that you've come to expect of 2000 Club events.

I'm sure I do not need to remind you that the events are your chance to interact with top names in the surf industry including professional surfers, surf legends, shapers, photographers and journalists. While these are just one of the benefits you receive from your membership, it is the benefit which you provide to the Surfrider Foundation that is perhaps the most important. Your Club membership dues provide critical support in the form of essential, unrestricted funds that allow the organization to respond to the most pressing environmental issues facing our nation's oceans, waves and beaches.

If your 2000 Club membership has lapsed, I hope you will join me in renewing it today. Please contact the Membership Department at Surfrider at (949) 492-8170. As soon as we have the next event confirmed we will be sending you information so that you can be sure to attend. Until then, I hope to see you in the water and I look forward to seeing you at the next meeting of the Surfrider 2000 Club.

Best regards,

Steven Friedmann
