City of Rehoboth Outfall Issue
The Chapter is currently monitoring the City of Rehoboth's wastewater treatment plans. Two options are currently being discussed.
The Chapter is in support of a LBA. The City of Rehoboth is currently looking at both options and a public meeting should be held in the near future. The Chapter will continue to monitor and keep members informed about this issue.

Smoking Ban / Bethany Beach
The City of Bethany Beach recently passed a seasonal smoking ban for it's beach, bandstand, and boardwalk areas.

Water Quality Testing
The Delaware Chapter is working cooperatively with DNREC and the University of Delaware's College of Marine Studies to test water for entercoccus bacteria during the fall/winter months. (The presence of entercoccus bacterica is an indicator of potentially harmful bacteria and viruses.)
*Volunteers are needed to assist with sample-gathering for this program*
