| Patrick's Point - A left surfable from
2-20', best a couple of hours before high tide, but can be surfed
at all tides. When it's big here, you better be good. |
|
College Cove - Beach break lefts and
rights. Good at about 3'. Best
on a large south swell at a medium tide. Long stairs to the beach.
Also a clothing optional beach if you're easily offended. Good beginer
spot.
|
|
Trinidad State Beach - North of the
large rock. Rights and lefts. Rock and sand bottom. Sloppy when
windy. Waves pop up fast so you better be quick on your feet. All
tides.
|
|
Camel Rock - Also known as 6th Avenue.
A good right with minus tides and south or west swell. Hollow and
fast. Glassy or N/W wind the best. Long walk up and down the stairs
to the beach. Beginners in the summer, intermediate to expert in
winter. Can get to 15'+. Great White attack a few years ago.
|
|
Moonstone Beach - Great beginners spot especially in the summer.
Winter can be a tough paddle out. Rights and left. Can be great
surfing if the sandbars are shifted just right and the swell and
wind are in sync.
|
|
Bunkers - A left and right ridable
when waves are too small for the North Jetty and the wind is southeast.
Medium tide going out would b e the best with a clean southwest
swell. Beginner to intermediate.
|
|
North Jetty - Hollow rights off a sandbar
next to the jetty. Medium tide going out, with a southwest swell
and southeast wind is usually the best. A left also, but hard to
paddle back out. Popular spot with some local attitude. Not recommended
for novices especially during the winter months.
|
|
Harbor Entrance -If you're not very
good and not in good shape...forget it! Big breaks in winter, shallow,
and dangerous. Barreling left an hour before low tide (a 0.0 to
2.0' tide) is best. Can easily be 15' plus. Beginners beware!
