Surfrider Foundation Receives Coastal Living Magazine Award
California Governor's Award For Environmental Leadership in Children's Environmental Education
San Clemente, CA (January 8, 2004) - The Surfrider Foundation announced today that it has been awarded the prestigious Coastal Living Award for Leadership.
Each year, Coastal Living Magazine honors a select group of people and organizations who have demonstrated their commitment to protecting our nation's coastlines. The Coastal Living Awards recognize achievements in the areas of Education, Sea and Shore Preservation, Community Development, Tourism, Design and Leadership.
"This is an incredible honor for us," said Matt McClain, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Surfrider Foundation. "While we've enjoyed a great deal of praise and recognition from many of our peers in the surfing and ocean sports community over the years, we've been working very hard to extend our reach towards a larger segment of beach and ocean users. This award is tremendously validating, not just in its recognition of our work, but for its reflection of the breadth and diversity of our membership."
The Coastal Living Award comes on the heels of the Surfrider Foundation receiving the California State Governor's Award for Environmental Education.
