195,280 sq miles protected by Bush

I've said it before, I'm not fond of the end of administrations. Something always feels so... last minute about decisions made in this period of time.

BUT after the bad decision to gut the endangered species act I was stoked to see two positive decisions. First was the recent Secretary of Commerce upholding the California Coastal Commission's ruling. The second one was just announced.

President Bush is establishing three marine monuments in the Pacific. Sure, they are far from most population/damage but they are... large.

The ocean will take all the help it can get. Thank you for this decision.
