Rob Machado riding an alaia, a piece of wood shaped to loosely resemble boards Hawaiians rode a century ago, better than most even think of riding a normal board. Surfrider's mission is "... protection and enjoyment of oceans, waves and beaches..." The following offers a nod in the direction of joy.
