Gorillaz land on plastic beachSomething changed back in 1981 when MTV launched. Music became visual. There was a lot of push back as there is any time the ground shifts. Another change happened a few decades ago (I'm not bold enough to try and point to when) when music embraced causes.
Today bands, like people and companies, define and refine their brands by what causes they connect themselves to. It's expected.
The Gorillaz, one of the more unique bands around as it is made up of animated creatures, just came out with Plastic Beach. They're taking cause alignment to a new level, complete with online gaming environment oriented around why single-use plastics are horrible. Check their Plastic Beach site out here.
