Green going wide

Any movement with a small target market... isn't a movement at all.

I love the idea of going beyond the small group approach to environmentalism... beyond the greenie secret handshake. I love the idea of engaging all types of people.

I love the idea of a multitude of onramps into the environmetal movement. I love the personalization in that.

That's why I love this car, recently auctioned off on eBay. It speaks to an audience that isn't being spoken to...

Much of what's "green" today is soooooo overpackaged, overhyped and a thinly-veiled attempt to push a different flavor of consumerism.

This car is different. It's a retrofit of a 1983 El Camino... it's a one-of-a-kind.

I love this because it's an onramp for gearheads. It speaks to a new demographic. We need to be doing a whole lot more of this kind of experimentation at the edges of this movement... so I want to see a biodiesal Ford Falcon, a solar-powered Pacer... and a hydrogen-powered old-school Mini Cooper. Fast Company had a pretty wild article on this theme last month. C'mon people... start your blow torches.
