Good piece in the WSJ today regarding the escalating trash situation.We talk about this subject a lot as we're constantly finding trash in the oceans.
of all trash/pollution in the ocean comes from land-based sources.
Look at this graph to the left... it's absolutely crazy. Look at any of the columns...
Plastic:
27 million tons of unrecovered trash
2 million tons of recovered trash. That's only 7.4% recycled.
