Seawalls in Solana Beach

November 14 2011 | Coastal development, Beaches, Coastal armoring,

I was recently walking on the beach at low tide in Solana Beach and saw this.

The truth is that seeing this sight in Solana Beach isn't rare. The other truth is that if you want to walk on the beach you need to check the tide chart. From mid-tide to high-tide the ocean is hitting those 40 foot sea walls and there is no beach to walk on.

For another perspective of Solana Beach and how dominating of a feature the seawalls are, check the video out below.
