A while ago we had a meeting where everyone was asked to
"come with a list of organizations that are killing it and be prepared to share why you think they are doing so well." There were no other parameters, but I strongly encouraged people NOT to share the obvious list (Google, Apple, etc).
I thought I had an open mind about looking at the Napsters of the world as examples for disruptive approaches and scaling architectures. Yet the discussion went well into very uncharted territory. I loved it.
Always look around.
Always seek every avenue for impact possible.
It doesn't matter if the business is a non-profit or a for-profit, those are just accounting distinctions. Focus on maximizing impact. Period.
