The Great Wave of Kanagawa

This image has been tattooed on my brain (figuratively speaking) for as long as I can remember. I think I first saw it in the Met, it's called "The Great Wave of Kanagawa."

It captures so many things; the intensity of the ocean, man's never ending quest to conquer nature, commercial forces, the land/sea connection, water's ability to go vertical and pitch, adventure, the artistic power of a flattened pallet, teamwork... the list goes on.

I've also heard that this was the inspiration for the Quik logo... and, speaking of logos, I can see some inspiration for our logo in it as well.

Anyone that has been out on the ocean in a storm, been caught in a severe rip or caught inside... can relate to this image.

Love it.
