It's a big world. We hear the news and they talk about places seemingly far away. We hear about issues with water pollution, beach access or oceans and they always seem to be talking about somewhere other than where we live.

Until they aren't.

The truth is that these issues affect communities all over the globe, including where you live. Look over this list of recent victories. Could any of these issues have taken place where you live? Of course.

The phrase "think globally, act locally" makes so much sense to me. It means be aware of what's happening around you on the larger scale but engage as much as you can on the issues that are particularly close to home.
