Before I was a surfer I was a skater. I was sponsored in high school, etc. But... in the last year I've snapped, and I mean snapped, the same wrist twice requiring two surgeries and possibly a third. It's clear that I have too much metal my wrist...
Still... skating holds a spot in my heart.
I'm not sure I can explain it any more than I can explain why I'm drawn to paddle out regardless of the location... I just am. It's the bottom turn in surf, the sliding carve on a skate and throwing the tail off a wall on a snowboard... they are all related.
I'll stop jabbering. Watch this video. Wear wrist guards.
