Get Stoked for World Ocean’s Month
World Oceans Month kicks of on June 1st and we hope you’ll join us in raising awareness around the importance of protecting and preserving our ocean. With oil spills, beach erosion, plastic pollution and many other deadly issues wreaking havoc on the pristine waters that make up 70% of our planet, we all need to stand up as Ocean Defenders. And it’s easy (and fun) for you to get involved. We promise!

A Win for Water
On May 27, 2015, the EPA and U.S. Army finalized the Clean Water Rule, restoring Clean Water Act protections to nearly 20 million acres of wetlands, two million miles of streams and the drinking water for 117 million (1 out of 3) Americans. Let’s celebrate! And then get back to work preserving and protecting the water that fuels us in so many ways.

We <3 You
Surfrider is nothing without the efforts of our supporters, volunteers and activists. Let’s take the opportunity to celebrate this month’s Activist of the Month … or should we say Activists, as we’re honoring three amazing students – Jane Hatfield, Melea Emunah and Megan Turmon – from the Branson School Water Testing Team in Marin County, Calif. This trio is making an impact! Take a read to find out what makes each one passionate about our waters.
