The board with a mission and a message.
Last June, a new wooden surfboard was signed in Miami, FL. The board journeyed through seven states and visited countless communities on its way to Washington D.C., where it was presented to the White House and BOEM (Bureau of Ocean Energy Management). Read more about the surfboard’s mission: to demonstrate the recreation industry’s opposition to new oil drilling in the Atlantic Ocean.

Disappointment and Distrust in Morro Bay.
Morro Bay was host to some very dramatic events at the California Coastal Commission hearing, which decided the fate of Executive Director Dr. Charles Lester. More than 1,000 people from all around the state turned out in support of Dr. Lester's continued tenure and to demand a transparent and responsible process. Saving the BEACH Act … again.
This marks the 5th time (!!!) the Obama Administration proposed to eliminate funding for the BEACH Act, which sets national water quality standards to protect public health and provides funding to coastal states to help them pay for their beach water testing and public notification programs.
