SIMA Environmental Grants
Available to Chapters

SIMA logoThanks to the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association and their recent $25,000 grant to Surfrider Foundation National, an opportunity for chapters to receive funding has been developed.
Half of this grant is available to our chapters to help fund some of their projects and programs. The other half of the grant is earmarked for the development of the new Respect the Beach program and materials.
Requests must be for mission related projects or programs. Chapters must submit their applications in writing, describing what the requested money will be used for and state the amount requested. The maximum grant amount is $1,000 per chapter.
Chapters who have not submitted their financial reports are ineligible.
At the end of the funding year, Chapters will be required to submit a report to National on how the money was spent and report on the results of the program or project.
Requests will be reviewed and approved by Surfrider Foundation National and the President of SIMA's Environmental Board and will be taken on a first come, first serve basis.

Memorial Donations

By making a Surfrider Memorial Donation for ocean enthusiasts who have passed away, family and friends can honor those who loved the ocean in their lifetime. With a Surfrider Memorial Donation, the family who suffered a loss becomes a lifetime member of Surfrider Foundation. General memorial donations are designated to the Tom Pratte Memorial Scholarship Fund. This Fund was established to provide annual scholarships (as many as the Fund will allow) to qualified undergraduate and graduate environmental studies students and to provide grants for the establishment of educational programs and materials within Surfrider Foundation's mission.
The following Memorial Donations have recently been made. The Surfrider Foundation extends good thoughts to all those who have lost a loved one.
