Surfrider Foundation
Receives Coastal Living
Magazine Award

Each year, Coastal Living magazine honors a select group of people and organizations who have demonstrated their commitment to protecting our nation's coastlines. The awards recognize achievement in six areas; Education, Sea and Shore Preservation, Community Development, Tourism, Design and Leadership. This past January, Coastal Living magazine named the Surfrider Foundation as its 2004 award for Leadership.

"This is an incredible honor for us," said Matt McClain, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Surfrider Foundation. "While we've enjoyed a great deal of praise and recognition from many of our peers in the surfing and ocean sports community over the years, we've been working very hard to extend our reach toward a larger segment of beach and ocean users. This award is tremendously validating, not just in its recognition of our work, but for its reflection of the breadth and diversity of our membership."

Coastal Living is a national magazine that celebrates life along the coast. Launched in 1997, the magazine has grown to serve a total audience of over 2.9 million.
