Fifth
Annual Membership Drive
|
The Fifth Annual Membership Drive is fast approaching! Last year
the membership drive generated 1,201 new members, and
this year we are aiming for 2,020 new members, in honor
of our 20th Anniversary. The enthralling and heated race
between the New Jersey Chapter and the San Diego Chapter
last yearSan Diego narrowly won by nine membershipswill
undoubtedly continue this year, as we launch the drive
on May 29 and end it on September 13. Surfrider Foundation
members can also participate by signing up friends and
loved ones. Stay tuned for more information about the
Membership Drive and feel free to contact the Membership
Department for support. It is through membership that
the Surfrider Foundation addresses issues of beach access,
ocean water quality, beach loss and other critical issues
that affect our communities and the future of our waves
and beaches. ![]() The Surfrider Foundation-hosted National Conference shall take place in Costa Mesa, California, October 16 and 17, 2004. This historic gathering will bring together prestigious leaders in the environmental movement, renowned trainers in grassroots activism and special keynote speaker Dr. Sylvia Earle. This national convention will give chapter activists the opportunity to gain valuable information, develop new skills and build important relationships with activists and experts from across the country.
