	Do Your Earth Share MAKING WAVES, Aug./Sept. 1998

One of the ways you can help support the Surfrider Foundation and do your share to protect the environment is to contribute through Earth Share and your employer's payroll deduction campaign. Founded in 1988, Earth Share is the nation's top payroll-deduction fundraising organization for the environment. Last year the Surfrider Foundation was honored to become a new member of both Earth Share National and Earth Share of California.
     Earth Share and its state partners in California, New York, Texas and Washington represent an array of leading environmental groups such as: Earthjustice Legal Defense Fund, Friends of the Earth, Land Trust Alliance, Pesticide Action Network, Safe Energy Communications Council, Sierra Club, U.S. PIRG Education Fund and World Wildlife Fund. The Earth Share federation addresses the full spectrum of conservation and environmental issues, and works to support its members efforts to safeguard and improve human health and the environment.
     Ask your employer to include Earth Share in your workplace giving campaign. It is a convenient and efficient way for employees to contribute to the Surfrider Foundation. You can designate your gift to a specific participating group (i.e. the Surfrider Foundation) or give to the general Earth Share fund that is distributed to all member charities. Employees of many private corporations and city, county, state, and federal employees are eligible to designate the Surfrider Foundation to receive your support in the Combined Federal Campaign- our number is 0946.
