Beach Clean-ups are a great way to spend a few hours at the beach and help make our beaches healthier and more beautiful for everyone. Beach clean ups are held throughout the year at beaches from Playa Del Rey north to the Ventura County Line. All materials and bags are provided for you, all you have to do is show up! We are happy to help you coordinate your own beach clean ups for schools or corporate events. We can assist you with planning including where to have your clean-up and provide a volunteer speaker to give an educational demonstration and talk to your group about some of the coastal issues in Los Angeles County. If you would like to host a beach clean-up for your group, please contact us at 310-451-1010.

The chapter is often involved throughout the year in many festivals, surf contests and educational forums in which we set up an information “tables” to educate the public about our organization and our issues by handing our literature, recruiting people to come to our meetings, and just talking to people. Since many of these are all day events, volunteers are always needed to help man the tables. If you are interested in helping at our next tabling, please email us at malibu@surfrider.org

Local and national companies, including media corporations and civil entities often sponsor Surfrider Foundation events. These events usually involve media and other exposure to bring attention to our efforts. Having this exposure and focus brings attention to the environment and the need to help. The more people the better so please try to attend these important functions. We will post sponsored events on our calendar.

Our General Chapter Meetings are held the last Tuesday of every month. Check the Calendar for updates.

We meet at:
Malibu Inn, Malibu
Last Tuesday of Every Month

Our meetings start at 7pm, though late arrivals are always welcome. Meetings generally last about 2 hours. Our agendas include scientific experts, environmentalists, engineers, government officials, surf photographers, filmmakers and more to update us on local environmental and water quality issues, current projects and events in our area. We also provide opportunity for public forum so that if you have an issue or idea that you feel is important for the chapter to know we want to hear it! We welcome suggestions for our general meetings, if you know of a speaker or topic that you think would be good for a meeting please email us at malibu@surfrider.org

Executive Meetings:
Our Executive Committee meeting times vary but usually take place on the 1st Thursday of every month. If you are interested in attending please contact us for time and location or check the calendar.
