The Massachusetts Chapter
of the Surfrider Foundation
was founded in 1996. We are an all-volunteer chapter
composed of local New England surfer / environmentalists
dedicated to the preservation of the New England coastal
environment, elimination of pollution, and open access
to our beaches.
If you are interested in helping
the environment,
protecting the coastline, surfing or having fun, we're
always looking for volunteers and new members to make
our programs successful. Visit our
membership
page for
more details.
Our meeting time and location: We usually meet the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm at the Wainwright Bank in Davis Square, Somerville
Please check our Facebook page for the most recent info.
Next meeting: Wed. Dec. 2 at Wainwright Bank in Davis Square

Annual STOKEE Event: Surfing to Offer Kids Environmental Education
On Aug 22nd our chapter partnered up with Big Brothers/Big Sisters to take kids out to learn to surf and protect the oceans and beaches. Once again, big, HUGE, fun!! Groms, you guys and gals rocked it! Big waves for a beginner surf sesh and everyone who came out ended the day looking like a pro. Thanks especially to the Brickhouse boys (Brickhouse Surf Shop in Marblehead) who year after year generously donate their boards, time, and endless energy for the event. Also special thanks to the Coast Guard for coming out and showing us how we can better take care of our oceans and beaches!
