About Us

Admittedly we are kind of a ragtag tribe that tries to hold it together when we aren't in the water. We have difficulty staying focused on the agenda at chapter meetings...when we actually HAVE a chapter meeting that is....and we get a newsletter out only once in a while.

That said, the fact is we keep it all going, Surfrider NNE. It isn't really an organization, per se...its more of a movement that we are all a part of. We are passionate about the health and sustainability of Maine's precious coastline and the waves that fall upon it. Protecting it is our duty, our committment as a group, one that we take very seriously.

We'll continue to build on this community that exists within Surfrider NNE because it's special....it's Maine, it's surfing, fishing, kayaking and just plain having fun at the beach. It's also fundraising, it's planning events, taking on causes, providing leadership, communicating and being active locally.

Sometimes it's so cold that when we get out of the water there are ice crystals dangling from our eyelashes and our fingers are numb. But beneath that hoodie there's always a great big smile.

With your help, we'll just keep on growing and keep getting better, one step at a time. There's lots to get done. Surfrider NNE....it's worth it.
