Minutes of November 15th meeting reviewed/approved
Treasury report: Approximately $10,500 for Spirit Sessions; $7,700 + $5,000 for Chapter
Business:
Bowls Parking: Jan 25 DLNR mtg. Sharon mentioned the need for lots of people to show up at mtg to protest paid parking; Scott and Marvin will write letters to Editors of both major newspapers
Statewide Beach Access Protest: 2/2; our involvement: Sign waving at Capitol followed by NewsConference at 10:00AM. Defend Oauhu will protest for public access in Turtle Bay area and another group at Kailua area. Groups will be at Bowls, Aina Haina and Port Lock Our Chapter will rent a Trolly to go from Capitol to Bowls, Waikiki, Diamond head, Aina Haina, Hwaii Kai and Port Lock; we agreed pay about $100 - $200 to print brochures; we discussed Mapping of existing access points and making an SRF Oahu Pamphlet
Coordinator position update: Jim Moriorty says that we are close to having a paid coordinatort position
Turtle/Kawela Bay: Peter discussed the Kuilima foreclosure filing
Feb. Mtg.: Location still to be decided. Guy Ragosta IDEXX loan. Presentation?
Int. Surfing Day: Friday, June 20; we agreed to participate.
JK Award display location: We decided between Patagonia Haleiwa and Malibu T-Shirts in Waikiki.
JK memorial fund: Colleen Kelly had suggested use for Hamilton Library curators to place online and expand the collection of SOS material used in the many struggles. We agreed that this would be good for receiving contributions directed for John Kelly memorial fund.
Beach cleanups Sat., Feb. 9 Time: 10:00-12:00 Beach: Sand Island State Park Beach; Stuart is coordinating with the KokuaFoundation
