WOW, what a summer so far!!!! It took a while
for the AIR to warm up BUT its HERE NOW. The waves seem to have hung
around rather regularly since the Longboard Challenge, hard to believe
its late July. The water
temp, however, isn't as advertised. A couple weeks rest and here we go
again, the calendar is full!!
To start, the "footprints" scholarship raffle is in full swing.
Terry is working the crowd at "Seacrets" and we can really use, not
only your "dinero" for tickets but your help at the info tables and
sales. Email Terry (loveolas@aol.com)
and join us (it is a ball) after all it SEACRETS on a weekend.
Remember, $20 chance to win up to $10,000 (WOW). Drawing will be Sept
27th Sunfest weekend (schedule below).
Professor Kookmeyer and I are working our 7th year of Junior Beach
Patrol with the OCBP every Friday to spread the ‘clean beach' message
and still hav'n fun!
Our calendar is packed and PARTIES are in order. Sunday, Aug. 17th,
9pm-till; Macky's Bayside 54th St. and rEvolution Entertainment are
throwing a concert for the OC-SRF – "Party for the Pipeline" with live
music from: "PRYOR, High Maintenance,
DJ Tweek, Seventh Hour & Crooked Finger (take a breath) $3 at door;
door prizes, drink specials, and raffles. ALL FUN and all proceeds
benefit the OC Chapter--9pm Sun Aug 17 @ Macky's 54th St (we'll need
help there as well).
LUAU. The DIAMONDHEADS are returning to CASTAWAYS at 63rd St.,
Saturday, Sept. 6th, 6:30--9PM. $10 at the door. Eats & drink
specials, raffles, silent auction, and surfboard raffle. Please join us
for the end of season party. All fun and all "aloha,"
don't miss these guys this trip.
In addition, please join us at our monthly meetings, the 1st Sat. of
each month. The next meeting is Sat., August 2nd, 12noon at Bull on the
Beach 94th. Enjoy the summer and swell!
