Newport Water Quality
Monthly meeting with Newport City Councilors and City Engineer went well. The city is adding 4 more DHS Beach Monitoring signs (Nye, Agate, etc) and will custom-create panels for advisories triggered by city data, aquarium/surfrider data, or sewage event. (State currently tests Newport beaches only during summer) Next month and beyond, the workgroup will be addressing source identification, increased monitoring, best available technologies, and Georgia-Pacific permit application.
