Clean Water Classic - June 3/4


Some spots remain in all divisions for the best surf contest in the Pacific Northwest! The Clean Water Classic is an annual event that raises crucial funds for the Pacific Northwest Chapters of the Surfrider Foundation, including Blue Water Task Force lab supplies. The 2006 Classic will be held on June 3rd and 4th, 2006 in beautiful Westport, WA. Common Ground film to screen in Waldport

May 25, 2006, 10am-Noon, Waldport City Hall. Hosted by the Community Issues Forum of South Lincoln County and aimed at local port commissioners, coastal decision makers, and interested citizens. Common Ground: Oregon's Ocean is a documentary that addresses the issue of marine reserves in Oregon's waters. The film features beautiful footage of the underwater world off Oregon's coast and presents perspectives from marine scientists as well as from fishermen and others who rely on the ocean for their livelihoods. The 30-minute film will be followed by a Q & A session with a panel of scientists, fishermen, conservationists, ocean resource managers and the audience. Public is welcome
