Tara works to build Surfrider’s base of major donors in the New York-area.  For ten years she managed major gifts, grants and special events at Hudson Riverkeeper in New York. Here she helped raise funds to institute a water quality monitoring program along the Hudson River that has grown to include citizen testing of tributaries, and that led to passage of a statewide law mandating that New Yorkers be informed of sewage overflows into their waterways. She has also directed all aspects of fundraising at the Garden Conservancy, and raised funds for art exhibitions and academic programs at the Bard Graduate Center. Tara enjoys hiking in the Hudson Highlands with her family and participating in volunteer-led shoreline cleanups of the Hudson.
