This November 6th, the Surfrider Foundation encourages all Americans to exercise their right to vote. Voting is one of the best, most effective ways of protecting our environmental resources. Here are some websites and resources to help you make an informed decision this November 6th:
GENERAL VOTING ASSISTANCE

Find Your Polling Location - find your polling location quickly and easily on this site
VOTE THE ENVIRONMENT
League of Conservation Voters The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) is a national non-profit organization that works to turn environmental values into national priorities. Here voters can find information on both state and federal candidates and issues, including environmental scorecards for candidates, information on state propositions, LCV endorsements and much more.
Ocean Champions The philosophy of Ocean Champions is that ocean users, in concert with traditional ocean conservation organizations, are the key to saving the oceans. Ocean Champions believes that fishermen, divers, surfers, sailors, kayakers, boaters, beachgoers, environmentalists and others who have a direct and passionate connection to the oceans make up a huge constituency that has the power to persuade Congress and state legislatures to take action to protect our oceans.
ProCon.org ProCon.org is a non-profit charitable organization whose focus is “Promoting critical thinking, education, and informed citizenship by presenting controversial issues in a straightforward, nonpartisan, primarily pro-con format." *This link takes you directly to ProCon's environmental issues page for the 2012 Presidental election.
Patagonia's Vote The Environment Our friends at Patagonia have put together a fantastic page, loaded with resources and information, all encouraging outdoor enthusiasts to vote for the environment.
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Surfrider Foundation has partnered with our friends Protect Our Winters to create several short public service announcements. Created with help of several prominent action sports athletes, these PSA's are designed to encourage the surf and winter sports communities to vote in support of our world's natural playgrounds. Please feel free to share them on your Facebook, Twitter and other social media pages. You can access all of the videos HERE.
