Growing up my summers consisted of a 26-mile journey on my grandparents’ boat to Catalina Island. A vacation where there isn’t a care in the world or a thing that can go wrong. Being young and naïve you think everyone gets to experience snorkeling with Garibaldi in Lover’s Cove, but now I realize it will take work to preserve and protect these luxuries.
Not until spending a summer in the concrete jungle of New York City, interning for a PR agency, did I realize what a true Southern California girl I am. I might thrive in a fast pace work environment, but as for my personal life I much prefer a laid back atmosphere. I’m a sports enthusiast who loves all things social media. When my eyes are peeled off my iPhone you can find me at a concert, an Angels game, or stuffing my face at a local restaurant.
As a recent graduate from Chico State, what drew me to Surfrider Foundation was the overall passion that volunteers and staff exude. It’s not everyday you find an organization where you can feel the love and determination to strive for the same goal. I am fortunate enough to call Surfrider Foundation my first post-graduation home and I couldn’t be happier to embark on this journey with my new family.
