Plastic 'Fess Up Coming

Team up with the Portland Chapter of Surfrider Foundation and Leave no Plastics Behind to help Promote Corporate Pre-sponsibility at the Plastic Fess Up on September 6th - 11:30-1 p.m. A street clean-up effort with accountability, between now and September 6, go for a walk and pick up a plastic shopping bag-sized amount of plastic from the streets in your neighborhood. Bring it to Peninsula Park, on September 6 for the Fess Up, where we'll wash the plastic and tally the results! Who will be the first recipient of a Leave No Plastic Behind letter introducing the idea of corporate pre-sponsibility? As for the plastic, some of it may be selected for use in art projects, otherwise we'll separate and deliver it to a recycling facility where it will begin the rest of its infinite life. There will be snacks and lots of fun, please join us! Please note: This is a VERY grassroots, volunteer-run event, so please r.s.v.p. by 9/3 to cheryl.lohrmann@gmail.com so we can be prepared. This is research, so please bring plastic you've collected from the street, and limit to one bag/person. Thank you! Not in Portland, do your own street cleanup between now and the 6th and send us your results...we'll tally them all together!
