Mt. Hood Cleanup this Weekend!

Last week Mt. Hood Ski Bowl confirmed the plan for a Mt. Hood Ski Bowl cleanup THIS Saturday, July 26. Arrive at 10am and the lifts open at 11am so people can start from the top and walk on down the mountain trash bags in hand. Please bring friends and/or family as this is a family friendly event. We will be sharing cleanup duties with a boy scout troop or two we're told. Fire smoke or no the views from the top of 'da Bowl' are always pleasing. He or she who finds the most cell phones wins a Snowrider t- shirt. The good folks at 'da Bowl' will provide a low brow bbq 'n soda pop deal in the afternoon. If you tastes veer towards the high brow by all means bring your own grillables and something to keep them cool with. If you have any questions of would like to carpool please call the Snowrider point person Eric Jeffcoat at eric@frontsideproductions.com. You can also contact Troy Fischer at Ski Bowl at or tfischer@skibowl.com

Two Great Volunteer Opportunities on July 15th

Feeling sluggish, tired and slow from all the summer heat? Well get off your buns and get active with some of these great upcoming volunteer opportunities. Cool down and ascend 2000 feet with the Snowrider crew at Mt. Hood Meadows. We need a volunteer July 15 to hike to the proposed howitzer site in Heather Canyon at Mt, Hood Meadows, shoot pictures, and report on the site. Get some exercise and do some good work! There will be a carpool from Portland. Contact michael@mhalle.com for more information. Need something at a slower pace, help us mark stormdrains! The next marking will be Tuesday, July 15th at 6:30 pm. We'll meet at SE Mitchell St. (between SE Holgate and SE Woodstock St.) & SE 60th Ave. Contact surfaeronca1@aol.com for more information.
