After the close of its most recent online auction, a Modern/Classic Dale Velzy-shaped redwood surfboard that sold for $8,000, the Surfrider Foundation today placed the fourth item in the “Treasures for the Coast” online auction up for sale.
Over the next few weeks, the Surfrider Foundation is auctioning off “JINN” by Ned Evans. This original piece of fine art measures 10” x 30” and is acrylic on canvas and wood. Evans, a lifelong surfer and artist calls Venice Beach, CA home and when not working – or whenever the surf gets good – can be found riding the waves at Malibu. He has been a longtime supporter of and friend to Surfrider Foundation and has again offered up a tremendous example of his fluid, abstract style.
The “Treasures for the Coast” online auction is more than halfway complete, with only two items left following the close of the Ned Evans piece. In November and December look for these one-of-a-kind experiences: a California surf trip for three with a former World Champion, and lunch for six with a New York-based investment luminary. All proceeds from the auction support the Surfrider Foundation’s efforts to protect and preserve the world’s oceans, waves and beaches.
