Plastic Pollution Data Collection
Project Description
Dana Hills HS Surfrider Club worked with South OC Surfrider Foundation from 2010-2012 to collect plastics data and documentation by taking pictures of plastic bags and styrofoam in the city and on the beaches to encourage Dana Point City Manager and Councilmembers to prioritize bag ban and EPS foodservice ban legislation where both initiatives passed 4-1 in February 2012. Students attended and spoke at numerous council meetings, in public forums and on campus with awareness program and signature/pledge gathering.
