Surfrider Foundation: Rincón, Puerto Rico

These photographs taken on Friday, June 13th, 2008, demonstrate that construction in the ZMT continues. The first fence that was constructed was washed away during the swell in March 2008 and the debris was left on the beach. The current construction has included dumping of fill material on the beach, placement of boulders in front of the property and new fill material being placed adjacent to the beach with inadequate sediment retention.

We remain concerned that this construction on the beach is being conducted without the necessary permits from DRNA.
