March 8, 2002: Puerto Rico Planning Board Visit to Rincon

Rincón, PR - On Friday March 8, 2002, a delegation from the Puerto Rico Planning Board (Junta de Planificación de Puerto Rico) led by its Chairman Dr. Hermenegildo Ortiz Quiñones visited Rincón to meet with Mayor Carlos Lopez, Wilfredo López, Coordinador Comunitario - Cámara de Representates - Oficina del Presidente, local developers, Coalición Pro Calidad de Vida en Rincón and Surfrider Foundation.

During the meeting, Wilfredo Lopez said that the Reserva Natural Maritima and Area de Planificación Especial legislation will be introduced by Speaker of the House Vizcarrondo within three weeks while numerous Planning Board staffers expressed support and offered their assistance for the Coalicion's Tres Palmas initiative.

After the meeting, the delegation took a tour of Rincón with stops at the Marina, Domes, El Faro, Marias and a walk at Steps/Tres Palmas.
